A Typical Wednesday Evening & Banff Film Festival

Here is Penny and Yvette on the T-Wire. Er... wait. It's the Trax Wire. Anyways, this was shot minutes before they headed up to the university to see the Banff Film Festival. Penny couldn't stop talking about avalanche awareness the rest of the night. Yvette was on the hunt (as usual) for some French Canadian dude.

They left us boys. Why is it that whenever the girls fly, our conversations die down?

New MiniCards

Our friend, Alana, passed us a great website the other day. Moo.com loves to print. And they have great products that artists can use! So we decided to get the MiniCards. We think they'll be fun collectibles as well as having all our contact information for you, our new friends. They ship from London so we have a few moons to wait before they arrive. In the meantime, we're hunting for more adventure... especially if there is food involved.

The Jolly Troop Classic Tee-Shirt

Yesterday we each wore The Jolly Troop Hoodie and got more stares than we did birdseed. So we decided to put the entire Troop onto a tee-shirt. Our colors stood out against the white with a lot of bang! This is our version of "the classic." A genesis of sorts. The original for the original Jolly Troop lover. Visit the Skreened online-shop to see which color wings your fancy.

Meet The Hoefler Twins

Have you ever seen a double yolked egg? Kinda strange, isn't it? I've heard that about 1 in 1,000 eggs are double yolked. Like these two. You never see them apart and the two couldn't be more different than fire and water. And maybe that's it — it's a balance thing. Not only do they stand and fly on top of one another, but their personalities seem to neutralize all sorts of situations. They are our diplomats. They see both sides. They also have a strange way of affecting luck... or circumstance. And it's almost eerie if you think about it too long. More than once, by simply "being around" a wedding has suddenly happened — on the spot! Another time, the Dow crashed when they were harassed for visiting some friends perched near the New York Stock Exchange. My advice? Don't get on their bad side. Double trouble.

The Jolly Troop, By Chloe

When I opened my email yesterday, I was surprised with a great gift: we would like to thank Chloe for sending in this beautiful picture of us! Crayon can be a really difficult medium, but it looks like she has mastered it. Although we haven't officially met, we are anxious to see her and perch around her windowsill. Thanks, Chloe, for the artwork! You make us look good!

A Pigeon in Paris

Yvette asked me to post these images from her summer jaunt to Paris. I'm always curious who she gets to take the pictures... probably one of her many Parisian boyfriends. From what we can see, it looks like she covered a lot of ground: flying over the Seine (one of her favorite things to do in all the world), bathing with the locals (the French are very open about this kind of thing), her favorite cafĂ©-haunts, the Eiffel Tower (of course), the Louvre (she pays homage to Winged Victory of Samothrace every time, spending hours; her favorite piece), Sainte Chapelle (she likes being dazzled by the sunlight through the stained glass), the Paris Opera House, Notre Dame and a shot of her own balcony. I'll say that again: her own balcony. I'm not exactly sure how long she's had it, but we're glad she does. She's going to have a feeder installed this coming year, making our upcoming trip a breeze!

Meet Yvette Garamouche

She's The Jolly Troop's "love bird." And no, it's not coincidence that she is being introduced a few days following Valentines. Although she can be complex, there is actually one word that describes her to a T. Paris. Yvette loves Paris and I think it's safe to say that Paris loves Yvette. Any and everything about the place coos to her. She's a real free spirit and goes where the wind takes her (which conveniently — 8 out of 10 times — ends up in France). She loves art, the Seine, and drifts to things on the fringe or edge. She likes things that are obtuse... like mixing plaids with polka-dots. Oh... she also has a budding interest in Alcatraz (you'll need to ask her; I have no idea). She has some of the most unique feet of all The Jolly Troop and she is not ashamed to let you know that (see the photo below for a closer look). When she loves, she loves deeply and fiercely but never lets you know where her heart is. Except when it's next to the Eiffel Tower.

Yvette Garamouche Tee :: I. Fly. Love. For You.

This is very much like Yvette: she would rather show you her designs than allow me to introduce her. She typically has flowers around her; she's always the first one to point them out when we wind-surf. And I suppose that is why she chose the sky-blue for this tee. Like it? We also put the artwork up so you could get a real close look. It's already on the Skreened Tee-Shirt Shop (where you can buy all of the apparel). Keep posted... she'll be here for a *proper* introduction any time.

Ciao!

RFB Valentine 2009

We thought this red-ringer tee was perfect for our Valentine! However, the design can be put on any of our tees or totes. I spelled it out in my very own font (Bodoni) and then plopped down to stare at Love for awhile. Black Jack's been singing the Beatles all day long: all you need is love! If you're interested in buying it, we've discounted it a few bucks. Love... love... love is all you need.

RFB Unisex Hoodie

This was a fairly recent request... we sure like how we turned out! Bright. Bold. And full of march! Now, you can take us anywhere; and in exchange for that, we'll keep you warm! We're feeling the Z-Breeze (what we call the West Wind)... blowing us somewhere over the ocean.

Click here to be flown straight to the shop!

Meet Algernon Anagram

We've finally brought him. After loads of requests, we finally brought out the Green Machine. Not too many know why he looks the way he does, but I'll clear that up in a second: he loves his greens. Seriously. He can pound more celery, green & chili peppers, green apples, squash, zucchini, *green* bananas, lettuce, and onions than you'd ever imagine possible. His favorite, however, is arugula with freshly squeezed lemon juice and a shake of salt. He's quiet and loves to take naps and snuggle. When we camp out, everybody crowds around because he becomes the perfect pillow!

Meet Black Jack Brush

He was there when I first came out of my shell... so, he's basically been with me my entire life. My best friend. He's hard to stop because he zooms and all he listens to are Beatles albums. Girls bug him, so he never spends time with them. For some reason, the more he avoids them, the more they flock (one of the reasons he zooms so fast). He has this CRAZY goal of reaching a noctilucent cloud someday. I'll usually follow him anywhere, but a Noc??! Crazy. But what else do you expect out of your Wing-Man?
